About this Role
Sesame Place is looking for personable, animated people with fun, outgoing personalities to bring Sesame Street® characters to life. Share the joy of entertaining children and other guests as a costumed character by greeting guests, shaking hands, posing for pictures, and giving hugs. Costumed character performers also act as theater hosts and character escorts, as well as perform in our daily parade.
- We cast performers in the 4'11" to 6'2" height range.
- You must be able to perform in extreme temperatures, including summer weather.
- You must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Performance experience is a plus, but not required.
- You must be at least 16 years old at the time of the audition.
Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $8.25
Prepare for the Audition
- You will be asked to learn a brief dance combination and participate in an improvisational exercise.
- Costumed character auditions are based primarily on movement and physical coordination.
- Please arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before the audition begins.
- Please wear form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes. Please do not wear jeans
- Prepare a resume and headshot, which will be retained by the audition team.
- Auditioning can be a lengthy process; you may be asked to stay for an interview.
