Audition Tips

Before the Audition

Apply online prior to the audition

  • Visit SeaWorldJobs.com to complete an application for a "Performer I-III" position at SeaWorld San Antonio.

Prepare a headshot/resume (Optional)

  • Bring a picture that looks like you. Heavy photo-shopping, dramatic appearance changes, etc. may pose challenges when reviewing your audition.
  • Please do not use selfies in place of a headshot.

Prepare your audition material

  • Visit the specific Entertainment Opportunity page to read the preparation requirements of the role.
  • Practice your audition material. Keep in mind your delivery and timing. Be sure not to rush the moments in your piece and remember to think about the emotion behind what you're portraying and play the part.
  • Choose fresh material that caters to the show/role you are auditioning for. Original material is not preferred.

Bring completed paperwork to speed up your audition process

  • Audition Liability Release Form
    • Please note: Guardians must fill this out for those who are 16-17 years of age.

  • Audition Paperwork (This paperwork can be downloaded by visiting the specific Audition Posting)
    • Fill out pink sections on both the front and back of this form.

Choose appropriate attire

  • Appropriate clothing and undergarments are required to participate in an audition.

Showcase yourself at your best

  • Please plan to arrive by the call time for the Entertainment Opportunity listed on the audition posting (View our upcoming auditions). Please note: You will be seen in the order in which you arrive and we recommend arriving 15-30 minutes before the call time.
  • Your audition begins the moment you arrive.
  • Auditioning can be a lengthy process; you may be asked to stay for a callback. Please be patient.

Auditions with movement portions

  • Please wear form-fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement.
  • Bring ballet shoes, jazz shoes, character heels, and/or taps, and wear the appropriate footwear for each combination and/or the role you are auditioning for.
  • Stretch BEFORE the audition.

During the Audition

Find your mark

  • Some auditions are recorded. Please perform in the area as directed by the audition team to ensure you remain in the video frame.

Have fun!

  • Showcase your personality with lots of energy.
  • The audition team is rooting for you!

Feedback

  • Unlike reality TV auditions, feedback is never given. Asking the panel, audition monitors, or anyone associated with the audition for feedback is discouraged.
